Most natural and sophisticated products anywhere
Key to Product ExcellenceAs an example, Rolf Lohse approaches skin care in a deeper way than our competitors. A healthy and nourishing skin care product must balance both the form and the function.
Our skin is our largest and most apparent organ. Besides holding us together and keeping us separate it also establishes and regulates our contact with the external world. Our skin is a remarkable germ barrier. Infection can occur when the natural exfoliation process (the renewal process of shedding tired cells for fresh ones) slows down and your skin pores get blocked. Healthy skin ultimately also prevents microorganisms and other substances from entering the body—its special cells engulf, consume, or expel all foreign invaders.
Our skin also helps the liver, kidneys, and intestines get rid of both waste and excess salt. It’s also a smart membrane—sending bad stuff out one direction while receiving good stuff in at the same time. Keeping this two way function in mind, speciall care must be taken in both product design and application.
Melanocytes in the skin also protect the body from ultraviolet light. In addition, the skin also operates as a huge and highly active biofactory for the synthesis, processing and/or metabolism of an astounding range of structural proteins, vitamins, glycans, lipids and signaling molecules—all critical for overall health. |
